Over the course of eight days in Berlin, 87 athletes from throughout the nation will compete for honour in 11 categories.

The opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin on Saturday featured 87 competitors from Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP).

The Games will end on June 25 after an eight-day run.

At least 70,000 competitors representing 170 nations are taking part in 24 sports at the multi-sport competition.

In 11 different sports, including tennis, swimming, athletics, field hockey, futsal, boccia, badminton, cycling, powerlifting, table tennis and basketball, Pakistan has sent 54 male and 33 female athletes.

The contests in Pakistan will begin on June 20.

The planners had chosen Sana, an athlete from Mirpurkhas, as one of the seven torchbearers. According to the reports, she was Pakistan’s representative among the seven nations given the distinction of lighting the Olympic torch.

Sana, like the other contingent members, was able to make it to the tournament because to her talent and tenacity on the global stage.

According to the SOP social media page’s updates, powerlifters were evaluated on Saturday, while cyclists also tested the track before the Games. As they get ready to compete at the Games, the competitors are beaming with confidence and happiness.

100m sprinter Minahil and SOP athletics coach Nuzhat Rubab may be seen together in one of the films that were made available to the media. They are enthusiastic about the Games and think they will bring honour to the nation.

Working with SOP since 1997 is Rubab. She stated that Minahil would also participate in the long jump and was a native of Lahore. Minahil came to us when she was just eight years old and did so via our young athletes’ initiative, according to Rubab.

She has received years of instruction from us, camps from us, and the diligent effort of several trainers. We are expecting to put up excellent performances.

Minahil was also questioned by Nuzhat how she felt about competing in the Games.

Minahil declared, “I feel fantastic.”I never thought I’d make it this far and get to represent the country. I want to represent Pakistan well here and make my nation proud. I’m overjoyed to be here.

As she continued to address other athletes and aspiring sprinters, Minahil’s face was beaming with joy as she watched and grinned widely.

“Join me while I train. I simply want to remind them to work hard so they may one day compete in the 100-meter event and bring home awards. They must work hard to prepare so that they may attend and compete in the Games, said Minahil.

All of the athletes, according to Nuzhat, advanced to this point via perseverance and hard effort.
