COLOMBO – The second and final Test of the two-match series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will take place today (Monday) at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo under the direction of Babar Azam.

Team Green, which has a 1-0 series advantage after winning the first Test at Galle International Stadium, is aiming for a clean sweep.

After defeating Sri Lanka by four wickets on day five of the first Test, Pakistan last week started the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship on the right foot.

With 83 runs needed to win when they resumed their second innings at 48 for three from the previous night, Babar made his intentions known by hitting two boundaries in the first over of the morning. Prior to being declared leg-before-wicket to Prabath Jayasuriya for 24 from 28 balls and five fours, he continued to hit two more boundaries.

Saud Shakeel, the double centurion from the first innings, joined Imam-ul-Haq at 79 for four. The two formed a 43-run stand for the fifth wicket until Saud (30, 38b, 6x4s) was bowled by Ramesh Mendis in the 30th over of the session.

Sarfaraz Ahmed (1, 10b) was lost by Pakistan with five runs needed to win. \Imam scored 50 off 84 balls, remaining unblemished, while slamming four fours and a six.

For Sri Lanka, Jayasuriya took four wickets in the second innings for a total of seven for the match.
