Participation by Pakistan at the CIS Games in Belarus

CIS Games::

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has received an official invitation to take part in the CIS/Non-CIS Countries Games, which will take place in Belarus from August 4 to August 14.

Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari received an official invitation from Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Andrei Metelitsa on Thursday at the federal minister’s office.

Additionally present at the meeting were Pakistan Sports Board Director General Shoaib Khoso and Federal Secretary Ahmad Hanif Orakzai.

Karate, swimming, boxing, and wrestling all received two representatives apiece, giving Pakistan a 20-person representation for the competition. The 20-member contingent will include team officials, coaches, and contingent officials.

The CIS Games, known for celebrating sportsmanship and unity, have developed into a significant venue for athletes from participating countries to display their talents and foster cordial competition.

The ambassador received a message from the federal minister expressing his sincere thanks for the invitation to take part in the renowned CIS Games.

Ehsan ur Rehman Mazari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to encouraging sportsmanship and developing talent, acknowledging the significance of such events in generating goodwill and providing Pakistani athletes with an international platform. He also emphasised his commitment to building a strong sports infrastructure to assist Pakistani athletes’ goals.

The minister also discussed important details concerning Pakistan’s well-known sports and their organisation on various levels. Additionally, he informed the ambassador that a 20-person Pakistani squad will compete in wrestling, swimming, boxing, and the second CIS Games in Belarus.

The subject of collaboration was discussed in greater detail than only the CIS Games. They discussed their shared intention to look into potential joint ventures in a variety of sports, including football, hockey, wrestling, and tennis.

The goal was to improve the technical skills of athletes and coaches from both nations. This was done through promoting information sharing, conducting coaching programmes, and enabling exchange programmes.
